Indian head coach Ravi Shastri has had a tough time after India’s loss to England in the third Test at Headingley. The way India came from the highs of Lord’s was a shock to the cricketing world. Indian batting collapsed twice in the same Test match as the bowlers had nothing to play with as the team ultimately succumbed to the hosts. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly was also present in London during the Lord’s Test to discuss about Shastri’s future.

In the meantime, Talking to Times Now from London, Ravi Shastri responded to the question of his future with the India team. Times Now anchor Navika Kumar asked Shastri about his future with the Indian team in a special discussion. The former Indian cricket had a witty response to her question.

Looking Forward To The Next 45 Days: Ravi Shastri

“I am looking forward to the next 45 days. I am not thinking of anything else. Let me focus on that and when the time comes, everyone will get to know where Shastri Ji is heading to next,” said the India head coach.

Under Shastri, India have had some of the most memorable wins. The side has lost some close games under his coachship as well. Inia’s back to back Test series wins against Australia remains his highest achievement. Not winning an ICC title so far remains his lowest. The T20 World Cup gives him another chance to fill that cabinet.

Shastri’s first contract with the Indian team had ended in 2019 but he was reappointed as the head coach by Kapil Dev-led Cricket Advisory Committee in August 2019. Shastri was handed a two-year contract which will expire at the end of the T20 World Cup this year.
