Virat Kohli has not been his usual self with the bat since the last two years now. He has lacked consistency and has also not found run-scoring easy in the meantime. His move of dismissal more or less has been similar and his century drought has made every Indian cricket fan anxious. In the England series so far, Kohli’s problems have been very consistent to what it was when he first came here in 2014.
Speaking at Sony Sports commentary stint, Sunil Gavaskar said that Virat Kohli’s method of playing balls outside off stump has not worked for him so far in the series. Adding that he has problems with his footwork, the former Indian skipper said that the current Indian skipper has not impressed him so far in the series.
Huge moment in the game as Sam Curran finds Kohli’s edge with one seaming away.

“That method has been successful for him. He has got 8000 Test runs with that back and across movement. But he is playing at deliveries way outside off stump and a little too early in the innings. This time around, the foot is somewhere else, the bat is somewhere else, which means that he hasn’t really played well,” Gavaskar said on the Sony Sports network.
Virat Kohli Should Be Left Alone: Sunil Gavaskar
Furthermore speaking about Kohli, Gavaskar said that the Indian skipper should be left alone with things not working for him at the moment.
“When you talk about this trying to take this attack to the opposition approach, and if that is what intent is, it can get you into trouble as we saw. I think every batsman should be left alone to find his own method. This is a Test match.”
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami has taken the Indian lead above 250 with Shami scoring his highest Test score.
