“This was a win for the collective” – VVS Laxman
The Lord’s Test was filled with a lot of intense moments. Several players like Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, James Anderson, Mark Wood were involved in the banter. However in the end India outperformed England to clinch a victory at Lord’s after a long time.
Meanwhile, VVS Laxman praised India and said he was impressed with the idea ‘team before self’. He further went on the laud Indian pacers who bowled out England on Day 5 under 55 overs. Laxman asserted:
“This was a win for the collective. There were several outstanding individual performances, but India didn’t deviate from the central theme – ‘team before self’ — which was most heartening to see. To have the belief that 60 overs was enough time for the four-pronged pace attack to bowl England out a second time on what was a slow, placid surface shows how far India have come as a Test force,” VVS Laxman concluded.
Met him for the first time at frmr Hyderabad great Abdul Azeem’s residence. And I feel so proud to see the rapid progress #Siraj has already made in intern’al cricket.
