India’s best Test spinner and one of the best spinners in the world Ravichandran Ashwin was not included in a first Test match against England at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. Also, this move was criticized heavily by some cricket fans and experts. On the other side, some fans thought it was the right thing done by Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri.

Notably ahead of the match almost all cricket experts predicted Ravichandran Ashwin will be part of India’s playing XI in the first Test. However, things didn’t go as expected, because India included Shardul Thakur in place of Ashwin in the playing XI. Some believe the decision might have been taken because the surface at Trent Bridge had nothing for spinners.

Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin recently uploaded a new YouTube video from Trent Bridge, Nottingham. In a YouTube shorts video, the off-spinner was seen roaming around the fence during the match. Adding to it a fan sitting in the crowd said ‘ See you at the Gabba ‘ to 34-year-old. Ashwin titled the video:

“’See you at the Gabba’ Fans at Trent Bridge.”

How ‘See you at the Gabba’ emerged?

Notably, this statement gained popularity during the third Test between India and Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Captain of Australia Tim Paine was involved in a verbal exchange with Ashwin. Also, Paine told Ashwin ’see you at the Gabba’ as the final match was scheduled to take place at Gabba. To which Off-spinner replied:

“I can’t wait for you to come to India, that will be your last series.”

Meanwhile, The Gabba Test between India and Australia was a historical Test match. India was playing with a weaker side as many big players were absent from the squad. Also, Australia was ruling Gabba as they didn’t lose a single game since 1988. However, somehow Ajinkya Rahane led India somehow managed to defeat Tim Paine led Australia. Also, India was victorious and they retained Border Gavaskar Trophy by defeating Australia 2-1.
