ENG vs IND 2021: ‘Weatherman’ Dinesh Karthik Gives Weather Update Of Day 3

After rain played spoilsport on day 2 of the 1st Test between India and England at Trent Bridge, fans would be eager to see action on day 3. Dinesh Karthik, who turned out to be Indian fans ‘weatherman’ during the World Test Championship final is back to his duty and once again provided the weather update of day 3.

Karthik has been fan’s favourite ever since he was spotted at the commentary box during the WTC final in Southampton. With rain interrupting the high-octane clash, Dinesh Karthik provided weather updates of each day from the venue. He once again shared the updates on Friday. Sharing a picture he wrote:

“As per public demand, weatherman DK is back on duty!”

As things look, the weather will be cloudy and conditions will be overcast which will favour the England bowlers. However, the good thing is that there are no chances of rain and the day’s play is expected to start on time.

After KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma added 97 runs for the first wicket, the visitors suffered a mini-collapse with James Anderson being the wrecker-in-chief. Just when things looked settled for India, a rash shot from Rohit produced the first wicket for the home side just at the stroke of lunch.

The dismissal of Rohit led to a mini-collapse as James Anderson send Cheteshwar Pujara and skipper Virat Kohli in back-to-back deliveries before a brilliant piece of fielding from Jonny Bairstow caught Ajinkya Rahane short of his crease. In no time, India were at 112/4 from 97/0 before bad light stopped play which eventually turned into a heavy shower.

KL Rahul (57*) and Rishabh Pant (7*) will have to stage a big partnership if India have to secure a big first-innings total to put England under pressure considering that chasing in the fourth innings will be a tough job. India are currently at 125/4, still trailing by 58 runs.
