The England Cricket Board announced squads for the upcoming T20I and ODI series against India. They will be hosting the Rohit Sharma-led team for a three-match T20I series, starting from July 7. This will be followed by as many ODI matches, from July 12. Wicket-keeper batter Jos Buttler will be leading the limited-overs England squads, as Eoin Morgan announced his retirement earlier this week.
Notably, spinner Adil Rashid is missing from both the T20I and ODI squads. He has been given permission to take miss the series to make The Hajj Pilgrimage to Mecca by the England Cricket Board. Matt Parkinson has got an opportunity in the limited-overs format in his absence. Meanwhile, uncapped pacer Richard Gleeson has received his maiden T20I call-up.

All-rounder Ben Stokes has been rested for the limited-overs phase to manage his workload. He is currently leading the English team in the test match against India at the Edgbaston in Birmingham. However, the all-rounder is all set to make his ODI come back along with Joe Root. Stokes last played in July 2021 against Pakistan, where he was the skipper, before taking a break from the game. On the other hand, Root’s last ODI match was against Sri Lanka last year.
