ENGvIND: Sunil Gavaskar hints at Rishabh Pant”s Selection for the third Test

Indian batting legend Sunil Gavaskar believes that Kohli may consider bringing Rishabh Pant to the squad. The 20-year-old youngster, who has been receiving accolades for his fine domestic performances received his maiden call-up for the national squad last month. He even starred in India A match against England Lions where he showed his class amassing half-centuries in both the innings.

Speaking on the same he said “It is an opportunity for sure and, perhaps, maybe for the third Test, he might get into the team. In fact, he might get in the team as a batsman down the order rather than as wicket keeper. He”s certainly in the frame. The fact that he was chosen ahead of everybody else to come, at the moment that Saha was declared unfit, just tells you about the thinking of the selection committee and team management.”

India will play the next game at Nottingham from 18th of August this Saturday. The team has to do a lot of homework before coming out to the field. However, further details on fitness levels of Bhuvi and Bumrah aren”t out yet. Their availability will certainly boost the bowling line-up.
