“Everyone In The Game Should Respect That” – Nasser Hussain On Virat Kohli, Harry Brook Missing Matches Due To Personal Reasons

Former cricketer Nasser Hussain has wished Virat Kohli well as the Indian cricketer has pulled out of the first two Test matches against England. He expressed that one should respect the privacy of both Virat Kohli and Harry Brook who will be missing matches due to personal reasons.

On Monday, the BCCI released a statement informing that Virat Kohli will be missing the first two Test matches due to personal reasons. Earlier, the ECB also released a statement on Harry Brook withdrawing from the upcoming test series. Speaking about the two players, Nasser Hussain in his column for The Daily Mail wrote,

“My first thought is that we wish Virat well. Like Brook, he’s taken a step back for personal reasons, and everyone in the game should respect that. Some things are more important than cricket.”

No doubt India will miss Virat Kohli: Nasser Hussain

Former cricketer Nasser Hussain reckons India will miss Virat Kohli in the first two matches of the series. He expressed that the veteran is in great form, and his missing out gives some hope to the England team. Nasser Hussain said,

“But there’s no doubt that India, and the series, will miss him. He’s also been in great form, and his absence from Thursday’s first Test at Hyderabad and next week’s second at Visakhapatnam deprives fans all over the world of watching a genius at work. That said, any team would suffer when a player of Kohli’s class drops out, and it gives England a glimmer of hope in the first two Tests of a series in which they begin as clear underdogs.”

The five-match Test series between India and England is set to kick off Thursday, January 25 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The Indian selectors will soon name Virat Kohli’s replacement for the tests.
