History has repeated another chapter from the IPL books but this time in reverse order Mohammed Siraj’s bowling show help Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Kolkata Knight Riders by a heavy margin. If you’ll recall the match between the two sides from 2017 when Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers led a riot on the Royal Challengers Bangalore batsmen as they got them all out for merely 49. But today it was Virat’s Royal Challengers Bangalore who played it all on the Kolkata batsmen as they restricted them to a mere 84/8 at the end of 20 overs.
It all started at the toss as Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to bat first at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Kolkata Knight Riders made two changes to their playing XI with Andre Russell and Shivam Mavi making way for Tom Banton and Prasidh Krishna. Whereas Royal Challengers Bangalore brought back Mohammed Siraj into the side in place of Shahbaz Ahmed.
Mohammed Siraj Rattles through Kolkata Knight Riders Line up
Batting first Kolkata Knight Riders innings was an absolute disaster as Mohammed Siraj’s double-wicket maiden ensured that Kolkata Knight Riders batsmen don’t score too many. With half the dugout back in the pavilion, Eoin Morgan tried building a partnership with Pat Cummins and Kuldeep Yadav but it was too late and too much to do for captain Morgan in the innings.
Royal Challengers Bangalore finished the match in under 14 overs as they chased down the target of 85 runs comprehensively. Devdutt Padikkal led the charge in the powerplay to take RCB past 45 runs in the first 6 overs itself. Then we witnessed Virat Kohli and Gurkeerat Mann Singh finish off the game for the ‘Play Bold’ franchise with the utmost ease.

“Was bowling with the new ball a lot in practice, got the opportunity today. The mood in the camp is great. Everyone is supporting each other, talking to each other. Cherished the delivery to Rana, came out exactly as I had thought,” Mohammad Siraj said.
