Veteran South African batter and Joburg Super Kings captain Faf du Plessis was presented with a special jersey ahead of his side’s SA20 match against the SunRisers Eastern Cape at Wanderers in Johannesburg on Sunday, January 26.
CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan handed the right-handed batter a jersey with “400” printed on the back, marking his 400th T20 appearance. Du Plessis, who has represented South Africa in 69 Tests, 143 ODIs, and 50 T20Is, has become one of the most prolific batters in the shortest format of the game.
At 40 years old, du Plessis has played in various franchise tournaments including the Indian Premier League, Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Big Bash League (BBL), Caribbean Premier League (CPL), and many others to reach his 400th T20 match.

In the ongoing match against defending champions SunRisers, the Super Kings bowled them out for 118 after choosing to bowl first. Lutho Sipamla and Hardus Viljoen were the standout bowlers, taking seven wickets between them, with Viljoen shining with figures of 4-0-24-3.
Imran Tahir and Matheesha Pathirana each claimed one wicket. David Bedingham was the top scorer for the Eastern Cape, contributing 48 runs.

Meanwhile, Du Plessis has faced difficulties with the bat in the third season, accumulating 152 runs at a strike rate of 135.71. The veteran finished as the second-highest run-scorer in the inaugural season with 369 runs, but his tally dropped to 239 in the following year.
The Super Kings find themselves in a tough spot in the tournament, having lost three out of six games and winning only two. With a target of just 119 set by Aiden Markram and his team, they will be confident of winning the match. However, they still have work to do to secure a playoff spot.
