Gill’s innings came to an end in the 88th over when he edged a delivery from pacer Jofra Archer to the wicketkeeper, just before the Lunch break. India went into the interval at 223 for 4, still 88 runs behind England.

Shubman Gill has become the first cricketer in history to score four centuries in a Test series during his captaincy debut. Previously, legendary names like Don Bradman, Warwick Armstrong, Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, and Greg Chappell had each registered three centuries in their first Test series as captains.
