Former India opener Gautam Gambhir and former India captain MS Dhoni don’t share a good rapport. Fans on Thursday were seen trolling the former opener over his reaction after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) qualified for the playoffs beating Sunrisers Hyderabad.
As far as the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) is concerned, Chennai Super Kings became the first franchise to seal their place in the playoffs after their last win. And, Gautam Gambhir, who was doing the Hindi commentary was snapped along with the updated IPL points table as well and a Twitter user shared the post.
However, seeing his face, a Twitter user depicted him as “unimpressed” and “unhappy” with MS Dhoni-led CSK doing well in the tournament.

“It means a lot” – MS Dhoni on making it to the playoffs
As far as the game is concerned, Chennai Super Kings won by 6 wickets. Put in to bat first, Hyderabad posted 134 runs in 20 overs where Wriddhiman Saha top-scored with 44. Josh Hazlewood claimed 3 scalps for CSK as well.

While chasing, both the openers – Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad got off to a flying start, adding 75 runs. Later, MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu played quick cameos and sealed the deal for CSK.
On the other hand, MS Dhoni, after winning their last game, said: “It means a lot, because the last time, we said we wanted to come back strong. We are known for that and there was a lot at stake. You won’t always win games and a lot didn’t go our way last time, and it’s important not to make excuses and we have done that this year. The boys did well to keep the momentum going, and they’ve taken responsibilities to keep all departments of the game in balance so the players and the support staff get the credit.
“The bounce of the wicket was different – instead of knee height, it was shin height, and once the batsmen figured out that they have to hit straight, they succeeded. The bowlers tried to swing it up front and got hit straight when they pitched it up too much, but then adjusted very well. I told the bowlers that they needed to exploit the conditions in today’s game. If the odd ball stopped early on, it started coming onto the bat later. Not much needs to be said of the fans, who have supported us through thick and thin and I’m glad we have repaid their faith,” MS Dhoni concluded.
