India comfortably won the test series against Sri Lanka in the year 2017 when they flew for an “all-format” tour in the month of August. This series is becoming a controversy now after few speculations of pitch-fixing reports.

In a recent documentary aired by the Al Jazeera, the Galle test was found to be a victim to these allegations. What made the news worrying is that the involvement of former Mumbai player who bribed the groundsmen to set the pitch in India “s favour.

The AL Jazeera group claimed that Robin Morris, former Mumbai first-class opener admitted to this pitch – fixing allegations on him. He represented Mumbai in 43 first class games scoring 1358 runs and 76 wickets. Before announcing his entry to the state games, he was coached by Ramakant Achrekar (coach of Sachin Tendulkar) at the Shardashram high school.

His cricketing career went on a low when he chose the Indian Cricket League formed by Kapil Dev. He last represented Mumbai in 2007 and there were no considerable records to his name. By Saturday evening, Robin deactivated his Facebook profile and this made his involvement a suspicious one.

None of his former teammates or members from Mumbai Cricket Association spoke on the same and an official confirmation is still awaited.

India won all formats of the tour against Sri Lanka in 2017. Hardik Pandya also hit his maiden test century in the tournament and Shikar Dhawan has adjudged the Man of the series.
