Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Kevin Pietersen recently caught up with Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul during the ongoing five-match T20I series between India and New Zealand. Pietersen travelled to Mumbai for a brief visit to attend an event ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026.
During his short stay in the city, he met Rohit Sharma, Rohit’s wife Ritika Sajdeh, and KL Rahul. The former RCB player later shared photos with the Indian stars on his official Instagram account, along with a few other moments from his quick trip.
“A flying visit to Mumbai to hang out with some super cool dudes and film something fun. Always great to spend time with @rohitsharma45 and his beautiful wife @ritssajdeh. Wonderful people! And last night I had the pleasure of my good friend @klrahul for dinner. Loved it!,” he wrote.

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul will be in action next during IPL 2026
Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from T20Is following the 2024 T20 World Cup, while KL Rahul last featured in the format in 2022 and has remained out of the national setup since then. As a result, both senior batters are not part of the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand.
The T20I series against New Zealand is set to conclude on January 31, with the T20 World Cup 2026 scheduled to begin on February 7. Notably, Rahul has not been included in the squad for the marquee tournament either. That said, fans will next see both Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul in action during IPL 2026.
The duo were retained by their respective franchises—Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC)—ahead of the auction. In the previous IPL season, Rohit amassed 418 runs in 15 matches at an average of 29.85 and a strike rate of 149.28, including four half-centuries.
Meanwhile, Rahul enjoyed an outstanding campaign, scoring 539 runs from 13 matches at an average of 53.90 and a strike rate of 149.72, with one century and three fifties.
