Four Virat Kohli Fans Arrested For Breaching Security On Day 2 Of Bengaluru Test

Four fans of former Indian captain Virat Kohli, who entered the ground on day 2 of Bengaluru Test, have been arrested for breaching security, the police confirmed.

A few fans jumped off the barricade and ran inside the ground to take selfies with their favourite star. While Virat Kohli obliged to take selfies, the actions have landed them in deep waters. According to police, an FIR has been filed against them in the Cubbon Park police station limits.

They have been booked for trespassing and violating security protocols. The accused fans — one from Kalaburagi and the others from Bengaluru — will be produced before court. The Cubbon Park police took them into custody immediately. Two of the accused are said to be minors.

Security breach concern is a issue: Jasprit Bumrah

Ace Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has concerns about continued breach in security in the last few years. The Team India vice-captain also thanked the officials for their quick intervene to bring the situation under control.

“That is something we don’t control, obviously the security concern is an issue. Suddenly, we realized that there were intruders but thankfully the officials intervened. We don’t know what to say about that, the craze of the game is very high and the fans get emotional sometimes,” Bumrah said while addressing the press at the end of day 2.

Meanwhile, speaking of the game, India need another two wickets to wrap up the game and inflict a whitewash on Sri Lanka.  Skipper Dimuth Karunaratne was the lone fighter scoring a century but Indian bowlers had the penetration to peg back wickets at regular intervals.
