Gautam Gambhir to Host Team India Dinner Ahead of 2nd Test vs West Indies: Reports

India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir is set to host a special dinner for the national Test squad at his residence in New Delhi ahead of the second Test against the West Indies. According to a report by Sports Tak, Gambhir has invited all players and support staff to his home on October 8, right after their training session at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The gathering is aimed at giving the players a chance to relax, bond, and strengthen team spirit before the next match. This gesture reflects Gambhir’s focus on fostering a strong dressing-room culture and team camaraderie, crucial for maintaining momentum in a long series.

India Enter Second Test With High Confidence

The second Test match is scheduled to be played from October 10 to 15 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Team India will approach the contest with immense confidence after their dominant display in the opening match at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, where they crushed the West Indies by an innings and 140 runs. Ravindra Jadeja starred with an unbeaten 104 and four wickets, while KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel also struck centuries as India piled up a massive 448/5 declared.

The bowlers then ensured total control, bundling out the visitors for 162 in the first innings and dismantling them quickly again in the second. Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Jadeja spearheaded the attack, supported by sharp fielding and spin-friendly conditions, sealing the victory inside four days.

Teams Gearing Up for the Delhi Clash

Both teams have announced their squads for the crucial second Test. India will be led by Shubman Gill and features a balanced lineup including Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah, among others. The West Indies, captained by Roston Chase, will look to bounce back with a side featuring experienced names like Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, and Tagenarine Chanderpaul.

With India aiming for a series sweep and the visitors desperate for redemption, the upcoming clash promises to be an intense battle. Gambhir’s team dinner, meanwhile, sets a relaxed tone ahead of the fixture, highlighting the importance of unity and morale as India look to extend their dominance on home soil.
