Glenn Maxwell And Mitchell Starc Unavailable For First ODI Against India

Australian pacer Mitchell Starc and all-rounder Glenn Maxwell are unavailable for the first ODI against India, which is set to take place on Friday, September 22 at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. They are expected to be back for the remaining two matches.

Australian skipper Pat Cummins addressed the media on Thursday ahead of the first ODI. He confirmed that Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell will miss the Mohali game. However, he hoped that the duo would make a comeback in the Indore ODI. Meanwhile, Pat Cummins and Steve Smith are set to make a comeback to the team. Both the players were out of action due to wrist injuries.

“We have got plenty of people at different stages. I am feeling pretty good, my wrist is all healed now, 100 per cent. I was running around at the nets, this afternoon. Hope to play tomorrow. Hoping to play all 3 games,” said Pat Cummins.

“Trying to think of a long list. Starc is here, (but) he won’t play tomorrow. But hopefully, he will be available later on the series. Yeah, he won’t play tomorrow. But I hope he will come on and play a part later on. He had been bowling in Sydney. He will bowl today or tomorrow. We are all tracking him. The time frame is similar for Maxwell,” he added.
