Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has wished Sreesanth luck after the latter announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on March 9 (Wednesday). The celebrated fast bowler took to Twitter to reveal his decision.

The 39-year-old Sreesanth has epresented India in 27 Tests, 53 ODIs and 10 T20Is between 2005 and 2011, picking up 169 international wickets. He was part of the T20 World Cup-winning team under MS Dhoni in 2007 and the 50-over World Cup-winning side in 2011.

He called time on his career that last for almost two decades. Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh was among the first few cricketers to wish the cricketer on a successful career. Taking to Twitter, the off-spinner wrote:

“Good luck Shenta.”

Meanwhile, Sreesanth and Harbhajan Singh didn’t shared a very cordial relationship in the past. The two cricketers were involved in a ‘Slapgate’ inside during IPL 2008. Harbhajan slapped the Kerala fast bowler after the game. The cricketer from Punjab was penalised for his action with a 11-game ban.

Meanwhile, in a series of tweets, the veteran cricketer put curtains on his international career. He wrote:

“It has been an honor to represent my family, my teammates and the people of India. Nd everyone who loves the game . With much sadness but without regret, I say this with a heavy heart: I am retiring from the Indian domestic (first class and all formats )cricket.”

Sreesanth returned to first-class cricket last month after BCCI lifted his lifetime ban in 2020. He played a game against Mizoram and picked up two wickets before missing the last two matches due to an injury.

“Thank you Bhajjipa” – Sreesanth reacts to Harbhajan Singh’s tweet

The cricketer from Kerala was quick to respond to Harbhajan’s tweet. Thanking the former cricketer, Sreesanth stated that he is looking forward to seeing him soon.

“Thnks a lot bhajjipa..lots of love and respect to u nd family..c u soon,” he replied.
