The West Indies vs England first Test is evenly poised at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. At the end of day 2, West Indies are 202 for the loss of four wickets, in response to England’s 311 first innings score.

On Day 2, Mark Wood’s hilarious ‘solo huddle’ caught everyone’s attention. England skipper Joe Root and the players got into a huddle, to discuss the strategy. However, Mark Wood was missing from the huddle.

The fast bowler had already taken his position near the fine leg boundary ropes. Seeing his teammates get into a huddle, Mark Wood acted like he is standing in a solo huddle while looking at his teammates.

The England players broke into laughter seeing Wood’s ‘solo-huddle’. The video of this incident went viral on social media.

So far, in the first test match, Mark Wood has had an impressive outing. He dismissed the West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite for 55 runs. Brathwaite chased a full and wide delivery outside of off stump and edged it to Craig Overton at the gully.

“It’s weird” – Mark Wood admits the absence of James Anderson and Stuart Broad was felt

England managed to pick four wickets before rain forced an early end to the second day’s play at Antigua. Mark Wood, Craig Overton, Ben Stokes, and Chris Woakes picked one wicket each.

Speaking about England’s performance on day 2, Mark Wood admitted that they felt James Anderson and Stuart Broad’s absence in the field. He added, that the England bowlers went too hard early on. Wood said:

“We maybe tried a little bit too hard, with the void of Anderson and Broad we wanted to try hard and prove we could do it. Of course, it’s weird [without them]. It’s obviously going to be talked about because they are legends. But we just have to admit we didn’t get it right to start with and we’ll be out to get it right next time.”

Nkrumah Bonner and Jason Holder will resume the West Indies innings at 202/4 on day 3. Bonner is batting on 34* and Holder on 43* overnight.
