Gujarat Titans’ Robin Minz Involved In An Accident Causing Damage To His Super Bike

Talented tribal cricketer Robin Minz from Jharkhand, who made headlines at the IPL 2024 auction, has been involved in an accident, as reported by his father. The 21-year-old tribal cricketer, Robin Minz, was acquired by the Gujarat Titans for a signed sum of Rs 3.60 crore in the IPL 2024 auction.

Unfortunately, he was involved in an accident while riding a Kawasaki superbike, colliding with another bike and losing control, as confirmed by his father, Francis Minz.

“He lost control when his bike came in contact with another bike. Nothing serious at the moment and he is currently under observation,” says Francis.

The accident caused extensive damage to the front portion of the bike, and Robin Minz sustained bruises on his right knee during the incident. Renowned for his powerful hitting, Robin Minz is a left-handed batter and an ardent admirer of MS Dhoni.

Guided by experienced coach Chanchal Bhattacharya, who also mentored the former Indian captain, Minz gained recognition when the Mumbai Indians identified his talent and arranged training for him in the United Kingdom.

Gujarat Titans secured Jharkhand’s Robin Minz for Rs 3.6 crore in the IPL 2024 Auction

Originally from Gumla district in Jharkhand, Minz has become a promising figure in the cricketing world. Currently residing in Ranchi’s Namkum area, the capital of Jharkhand, Robin Minz, though yet to feature in Jharkhand’s Ranji Trophy squad, has been a member of the state’s U19 and U25 teams.

His father, a retired army personnel now employed as an airport guard at Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi, lives with Minz and his two sisters.

Robin Minz, who was initially overlooked in the IPL 2023 auction, caught the eye of multiple franchises during trials, including Mumbai Indians, Lucknow Supergiants, Delhi Capitals, and Kolkata Knight Riders. Despite not securing a deal in 2023, he emerged as one of the sought-after players in the IPL 2024 auction, eventually being bought by Gujarat Titans for a significant sum.

As he vies for a place in the playing XI, Minz faces competition from experienced Indian wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha. Notably, Minz gained attention during the mock auction, with Robin Uthappa likening him to the ‘left-handed Kieron Pollard.’
