The Indian Premier League 2022 season will kick start in Maharashtra on March 26. The debutants, Gujarat Titans (GT) will clash against the Lucknow Super Giants in their opening match at the Wankhede Stadium on March 28.
The Gujarat Titans franchise, owned by the CVC Capital group will be led by Hardik Pandya this season. The all-rounder was drafted by the franchise before the auctions, along with spinner Rashid Khan and batter Shubman Gill. The trio will be key to the franchise’s success in the league.
Gujarat made a decent debut at the auction tables. Their biggest signing was Lockie Ferguson for INR 10 crores. GT also signed Rahul Tewatia and Mohammed Shami at the auctions.
However, they will be disappointed with Jason Roy opting out of the tournament. The Titans will be hoping to make a memorable debut in the Indian Premier League by winning the championship this year.
