Virat Kohli is considered one of the best batsmen of world cricket right now. The Indian Test captain has scored 70 international centuries so far and averages over 50 across formats. Kohli has also led the team by example and led the team to the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) as well. And, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has applauded Kohli for his aggressive approach.

Kohli likes to wear his emotions up his sleeves which gets the best out of him. Harbhajan Singh shared that if Kohli had been soft like former India captain MS Dhoni, then he would not have scored the number of runs that he has scored so far in his career.

“And that is the change you have noticed in this Indian side. They went to Australia and beat them twice, they played well in England and I hope they beat South Africa in this series. So Kohli has perfectly played his role as a leader. And the aggressive approach, that has made Virat Kohli the player he is today. Had he been soft like MS Dhoni, I don’t think he would have scored these many runs,” Harbhajan Singh said to the Hindustan Times.

Harbhajan Singh also stated that the Indian Test team has successfully defeated Australia in their backyard and did extremely well in England under Kohli’s leadership.

He further added that Virat Kohli has played his role as the captain to perfection.

“It suits perfectly actually and we need players like him in the team to can take the team forward. When team used to go to Australia, they used to think about how to save the Test match. In Virat’s captaincy, team goes to Australia thinking how they can win the Test series,” Harbhajan Singh added.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is currently leading the side in a three-match Test series against South Africa. The Indian side will be desperate to win a series in the Rainbow Nation that has eluded them for 29 years now.
