Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya spent some quality time with his family and son Agastya after leading India to a 1-0 victory in the T20I series against New Zealand. He has been rested from the ODI series against the Kiwis.

Pandya took to Twitter to share his pictures with his son. Here’s the tweet:

Over the last few months in the buildup to the T20 World Cup Pandya has played quite a lot of T20 cricket. He will be crucial for the men in blue in the upcoming ODI world cup next year in India.

Apart from Hardik Pandya, there is no other seam-bowling all-rounder of his capabilities. Players like Ravindra Jadeja and Pandya provide the necessary balance and depth to the playing 11. Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar have some glimpses of their capabilities with both bat and bowl. They will be expected to be given opportunities to prove themselves.

Hardik Pandya won’t be featured in the ODI series against New Zealand

Chahar and Thakur are in the squad for the ODI series versus New Zealand and Bangladesh. Washington Sundar is also seen making his comeback after being sidelined with injuries.

This series will begin the preparations for both teams, India and New Zealand for next year’s World Cup in India. Both will look to find some answers in this series. India will look to find some answers in regard to both their batting and bowling. The players in the squad have a good chance to get a longer rope of opportunity if they perform well in the series and will likely keep their place once the likes of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli return to the squad.

The first ODI is set to begin at Eden Park at 7:00 am IST on 25th November, Friday.

The squad for the ODI series: Shikhar Dhawan (C), Shubman Gill, Deepak Hooda, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (VC and WK), Sanju Samson (WK), Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Shahbaz Ahmed, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Sen, Umran Malik
