Hardik Pandya Spotted With Injury In Eyebrow Region In IPL 2025

Mumbai Indians (MI) captain and India all-rounder Hardik Pandya was seen with an injury on his left eyebrow on Thursday, May 1. He had a bandage over the area when he stepped out for the toss in MI’s away match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur during the ongoing IPL.

The exact cause of Pandya’s injury is unclear, but it is likely to have happened during training. Meanwhile, RR’s stand-in captain Riyan Parag, filling in for Sanju Samson who is sidelined with a side strain, won the toss and chose to bowl first, citing the potential dew factor later in the evening.

Here’s a picture of Pandya at the toss:

MI, currently in third place on the IPL table, have secured five consecutive victories, boosting their chances of making the playoffs after a tough start to the season. The five-time IPL champions had previously won just one of their first five matches, but their fortunes have since dramatically improved.

Hardik Pandya achieved his career-best T20 figures in IPL 2025

Hardik Pandya has captained MI with great distinction this season and will be eager to guide them to the playoffs. Despite having India’s Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma and T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav in their squad, the franchise has entrusted Pandya with leading them in the IPL.

In the 10 matches he has played so far, Pandya has scored 109 runs at a strike rate of 160.29. Though his average stands at a modest 21, he has hit six sixes this season, a key contribution MI expects when he bats lower down the order.

With the ball, the MI captain has taken 12 wickets, including a standout performance of 5-36 against Lucknow Super Giants earlier in the season—his best figures in T20 cricket. However, he has been a bit costly this season, with an economy rate of 9.11.
