Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya took to social media on March 4 to share a touching moment from his video call with sister-in-law Pankhuri Sharma, wishing her a happy 34th birthday.
Pankhuri, who is married to Hardik’s elder brother and fellow cricketer Krunal Pandya, received warm wishes from the star cricketer ahead of India’s crucial Champions Trophy semifinal against Australia. The couple tied the knot on December 27, 2017, in Mumbai and are proud parents to two sons, Kavir and Vayu.
Hardik shared a photo from their video call on his Instagram Stories, along with a heartfelt birthday message for Pankhuri. Despite his busy schedule, he took time to make the occasion special for his sister-in-law. The all-rounder, who has been an integral part of India’s campaign in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, will soon return to the field for the high-stakes semifinal against Australia at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Krunal Pandya’s International Career
Krunal Pandya, a seasoned cricketer, has represented India in both T20 and ODI formats. He has played 19 T20 internationals, amassing 124 runs and claiming 15 wickets. In ODIs, he has appeared in five matches, scoring 130 runs, including a half-century, and securing two wickets. Known for his all-round capabilities, Krunal has been a valuable player in domestic and international circuits.
Hardik, on the other hand, has been a key asset for the Indian team in limited-overs cricket. Over the years, he has built an impressive record, featuring in 92 ODIs and scoring 1,858 runs, including 11 fifties. With the ball, he has taken 90 wickets, making him one of India’s premier all-rounders in the shorter formats.
Hardik’s Performance in the 2025 Champions Trophy
Hardik Pandya has delivered notable performances in the ongoing Champions Trophy. In India’s opening match against Bangladesh, he bowled four overs but didn’t get a chance to bat, as India comfortably chased down a target of 229. However, he made a strong impact in the high-stakes clash against Pakistan, picking up two wickets for just 31 runs in eight overs.
Against New Zealand in the final league-stage game, he contributed significantly with both bat and ball, scoring a quickfire 45 runs and taking a crucial wicket. With the semifinal against Australia looming, Pandya will be aiming to carry forward his momentum and play a decisive role in India’s quest for the Champions Trophy title.
