Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya surprised fans and followers on Valentine’s Day with a deeply personal gesture for his fiancée, Mahieka Sharma — a custom tattoo that symbolises their relationship in more than just a superficial way. Rather than following the common trend of simple initials or ephemeral gifts, Pandya chose to get permanent body art inked on his nape that goes beyond the ordinary.
The tattoo was created at the renowned Aliens Tattoo studio by celebrity artist Sunny Bhanushali and executed by lead artist Tushar Marane, turning what started as a small idea into something elaborate and emotionally significant.
According to those involved in the design process, Pandya initially planned a straightforward tribute — perhaps the letter “M” for Mahieka — but conversations with the artists revealed the chance to embed deeper meaning into the work. What resulted is a piece that blends art and symbolism, reflecting not just affection but partnership. It is meant to represent both individuals as strong on their own and even stronger together, a sentiment that resonates far beyond Valentine’s Day.
Meaning Woven Into the Design
The final artwork features two leopards, chosen not randomly, but as a metaphor for strength, ambition and shared paths. One of the animals appears bold and vividly detailed, symbolising outward power and drive. The second, more fluid in its form, curls around the first in a way that forms the subtle silhouette of the letter “M” — Mahieka’s initial — within the flowing linework. This artistic choice was not merely decorative, but intentional: it represents “two strong individuals moving together in alignment rather than losing individuality within a relationship.”
Speaking about the creative process, tattoo studio founder Sunny Bhanushali said: “Hardik came with the idea of an initial, but conversations revealed something much deeper. They described themselves as partners who amplify each other’s strength. The leopard became the perfect metaphor, powerful alone, unstoppable together.”
The placement of the tattoo on the nape — a spot that can be covered or revealed as desired — adds an intimate element to the design. While it remains subtle most of the time, when shown it carries personal meaning for the couple, acting as a permanent and visible sign of their commitment.
Permanent Art With Personal Significance
For Pandya, the tattoo now stands as more than just ink. It is intended as a lasting tribute not just to a person, but to the energy and connection they share, a story etched in art. The entire session was described by those present as more than a routine appointment — instead, it became a collaborative exploration of identity, connection and symbolism.
In this carefully crafted piece of body art, Pandya has combined his personal life with artistic expression in a way that transforms a Valentine’s Day gift into a lifelong statement.
