She now became the second Indian cricketer to grab a contract after Smriti Mandhana who was signed by defending champions Western storm a few weeks back. Though Harmanpreet was roped into Surrey Stars last year, a back injury forced her to pull out of the competition.
Harmanpreet grabbed the public attention with her knock of 171 in the semifinals of the ICC World Cup 2017 at England which even grabbed her the BCCI award.
Speaking on the same, She said “I am so pleased to sign for Lancashire Thunder ahead of the 2018 Kia Super League. It is a T20 format where the six sides play over a month in home-away fashion. This year the tournament is scheduled from July 22 to August 27.
