Indian women’s T20 skipper Harmanpreet Kaur has been signed by Surrey Stars in upcoming KIA super league, a T20 tournament hosted by England Cricket Board which is all set to commence on 10 August.
Last year Harmanpreet Kaur became the first Indian to play WBBL. She was picked up by Sydney Thunder whereas her teammate Smriti Mandhana played for Brisbane Heat in 2016-17 season of WBBL.
Harmanpreet Kaur had a dream season for Sydney Thunder scoring 296 runs in 12 innings at an astonishing average of 59.20. She also rolled her arm over and picked 6 wickets and was named Sydney Thunder’s player of the tournament.
All her effors however were not good enough for Sydney Thunder to reach the semis as the ended up on 6th position on points table winning 6 out of 14 games.
The format of KIA Super League is such that table toppers get a direct entry into the final whereas teams ranked 2nd and 3rd will play a semi final to grab a spot in grand finale.
