The ‘Voice of Cricket’ Harsha Bhogle celebrates his 59th birthday today (July 19). Everyone flooded the message box on various social media platforms with birthday wishes. Meanwhile, Harsha Bhogle came up with a hilarious reply in a wish from Ravichandran Ashwin.

An IIM graduate, Harsha Bhogle is different because apart from a very deep understanding of the game, but his way of presenting and sense of humour enthrals the television viewers.

Harsha Bhogle started commentating at the age of 19 with the All India Radio. In 1991–92, he became the first Indian commentator when Australian Broadcasting Corporation invited him during India’s cricket series before the 1992 Cricket World Cup.

He has also authored a couple of books including a biography of former India skipper Mohammad Azharuddin. Till date, Harsha remains one of the most celebrated broadcasters across the globe and inspiration from all the youngsters.

Soon after the clock ticked 12, a plethora of wishes flooded social media wishing Harsha Bhogle. Team India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also joined the bandwagon and wished Bhogle on his birthday.

“Many more happy returns of the day @bhogleharsha, have a great day and beyond,” Ashwin tweeted.

As soon as Ashwin posted the tweet, Harsha Bhogle came up with an epic reply which left the fans in splits. It caught everyone of-guarded as no one expected this coming from the veteran commentator.

“Thank you Ashwin… Watching so much of you during this lockdown….Keep spinning that ball and leave my job alone….,” Bhogle replied.  

Previously, Harsha Bhogle had predicted that Ravichandran Ashwin would make a great commentator in the future. During an interaction with Sanjay Manjrekar for ESPNCricinfo, Bhogle was in awe of Ashwin’s understanding of the game.
