“Hata Gauti Is Gaane Ko”-Suresh Raina Shares A Humorous Story Involving Gautam Gambhir In The Indian Dressing Room

Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina, who frequently shared the dressing room with Gautam Gambhir during their active cricketing days, recently recounted a comical story about the left-handed opener. Raina mentioned that Gambhir had a tendency to listen to a particular song repeatedly, especially if it boosted his performance on the field.

However, Raina also mentioned the frustration and annoyance this habit caused to other cricketers in the dressing room, who would become irritated after hearing the song multiple times. Raina humorously suggested that sometimes, the repetitive nature of the song even affected other batsmen’s concentration, leading to their dismissal.

In an interview with The Lallantop, Suresh Raina shared his amusing recollection involving Gautam Gambhir.

“He can listen to one song 20 times in the dressing room. If he likes the song, he will score runs. However, some other batters would get out after listening to that song. Many times three-four players have gone to him and said, ‘Hata Gauti is gaane ko’.”

Raina also weighed in on Rinku Singh and boldly predicted that the left-hander would smash the winning six during India’s next World Cup victory. He further commented:

“He (Rinku) is God-gifted. Whenever the Indian team win the World Cup, the winning six will come from Rinku Singh’s bat. He is that kind of a player who will bail the team out of trouble.”

Rinku’s steady displays for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) last season, along with his limited outings for the Indian team, indicate that he may well feature in their T20 World Cup 2024 considerations.

Suresh Raina’s thoughts on the emerging talents of India

The potential of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Shubman Gill indicates they could lead Indian cricket into the future. When asked about his thoughts on each player, Suresh Raina was straightforward.

Raina admires Jaiswal’s determination and resilience. Despite Gaikwad’s reserved demeanor on the field, Raina feels the CSK captain has the ability to rise to the occasion when required.

However, Raina’s boldest assertion was that Shubman Gill could potentially become India’s next captain following Rohit Sharma. He expressed:

“He (Shubman) is very strong from the heart. Now that he is leading GT, he is going to be a superstar in the coming years. I would say he would say he will be the next Indian captain. He reads the game very well. He has the body language that we’ve seen with Sourav Ganguly and Mohammad Azharuddin in the past.”

As Rohit Sharma approaches his 37th birthday, uncertainties persist regarding the future leadership of Indian cricket across formats, sparking ongoing discussions. Gill’s team, the Gujarat Titans, currently occupies the eighth position in the IPL 2024 points table, having secured three victories from seven matches.
