Former Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram heaped praise on Team India batter Suryakumar Yadav, who has been in terrific form in the T20 format at the International level. He has been the backbone of the Indian batting attack at the 2022 T20 World Cup. Suryakumar Yadav’s fearless approach impressed Wasim Akram, who expressed that the batter seems to be from a different planet while batting.

Suryakumar Yadav is the third leading run-scorer in the 2022 T20 World Cup so far. In five matches, he has scored 225 runs at an average of 75.00 and a strike rate of 193.96, with three half-centuries. The right-handed batter has played a key role in India’s campaign so far at the World Cup. Praising the Indian cricketer, Wasim Akram expressed on A Sports,

“Mujhe toh lag raha ye kisi aur planet se aaya hai (I think he is from some other planet). He is totally different from anybody else. The amount of runs he has scored. I mean he is the only batter to score 1000 runs T20I in 2022. He’s just a treat to watch and not just against Zimbabwe, against the top bowling attacks in the world.”

Former Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram further expressed that he loves watching Suryakumar Yadav play. He added that the prolific run-scorer possesses a fearless attitude. The is also the leading run-scorer in T20Is this year, and currently the highest-ranked batter in the world. Wasim Akram said,

“He is such a fearless batter along with his talent. Darna nahi hai, gend lag bhi jaaye.. matlab maja aata hai aise ladke ko khelta dekh kar (He is so fearless that he is not even worried about getting hit on the body. I love watching him play.”

Former Pakistan Waqar Younis, who was also in the discussion,  said, “Bowler jaaye toh jaaye kahaan (Where should the bowler bowled at him).”
