There have been a lot of reports in recent times predicting the retirement of MS Dhoni right after the World tournament. One of the senior BCCI officials was quoted saying PTI that, this World Cup marks the final phase of Dhoni’s career.
After these reports, a lot of fans were seen expressing their disappointment on their social media handles. But is Dhoni trying to convey a clue regarding the same?
It is to be noted that Dhoni has been using several bats with stickers of SS, BAS and SG in this World Cup. If we have a close look at his innings, he is changing his bat for a couple of times in an innings. Arun Pandey, the manager of Dhoni said that it is a goodwill gesture from the ‘Thala’ to thank all the brands who helped him at several phases of his career.
What’s interesting here is that Dhoni isn’t charging than any for endorsing them on his bat. If these clues are expected to be true, then we could confirm that last game for India in this World Cup would be the one last time we witness Dhoni in Indian colours.
“It’s a fact that he has been using different bats with different brandings, but he is not charging them. He wants to say thank to them for helping in various stages of his career. He does not need money, he has enough of it, he is using those bats as a goodwill gesture. BAS was with him from the beginning and SG also was very helpful to him.”, said Arun Pandey told Mumbai Mirror.
Can the Indian side put their efforts to the fullest and bid a fitting farewell to the legend? Will Dhoni unlock his destructive powers in the major stages of the tournament now?? All eyes on the Indian side now after this particular news.
