While the BCCI selection committee was expected to meet on September 4 on the squad selection for the South Africa T20I series, the results came beforehand. The BCCI selection committee stunned everyone by announcing the squad a week earlier than expected.

According to Mumbai Mirror, the BCCI had to prepone the same on accounts of finalizing the latest jersey at the earliest. It is to be noted that the current West Indies outing is one last time when India side will sport “Oppo” on the jersey.

Byju”s classes will be replacing Oppo as the official sponsor from September. Reports suggest that the BCCI is currently in discussion with “Nike” to finalize the design of the latest jersey.

The India-SA series

The Proteas will be touring India for T20I and test series. The entire team management is under renovation after a disappointing world cup campaign. A lot of responsibility rests on the shoulders of the players to lift the spirits of the game.

The tour starts with the T20I series on September 15. However, the squads for the test series aren”t finalized yet. The Indian side has been performing exceedingly well in the longest format of the game. Currently, the side tops the ICC World Test Championship table.

Last time when the Proteas side toured India, they won the limited over internationals. India managed to win the test series by a 3-0 margin. But it is interesting to note that AB de Villiers” presence played a good role in their chances last time.

On the other hand, India is currently playing the second test as a part of the West Indies tour.

Who will come out at the top? Can India continue its dominance at home?

A lot of questions will be answered in a month”s time.
