The Indian team will tour Ireland and England for the next couple of months. The skipper Virat Kohli spent some time with the media and shared his views on the same.

This will be Virat”s first assignment to the British as a full-time captain for an all-format tour. It”s is to be noted that Virat wasn”t a part of the historic test against Afghanistan due to a neck injury.

He even had to pull out of his maiden county stint with Surrey. Speaking on the same, he said “I am 100% fine now & absolutely ready to go. My neck is fine now. I”ve had good practice & played 6-7 sessions in Mumbai. Breaks like these make you fresh mentally. It has made me excited to go back on to the pitch again.”

The much-anticipated battle between Kohli and Anderson has grabbed the eyeballs of the cricket fans all over the world. Kohli, who toured England in 2014 had a very poor outing as he managed to get just 134 runs in 5 tests at an average of 13.4. This series raised eyebrows regarding his selection in the longer format of the game. But he made sure to answer his critics to score four centuries in Australia down under.

On team”s overseas performance, Kohli said “This is a team game. It doesn”t matter how I perform or how one player stands out in the whole tour. We, as a team, have to play well. In the upcoming tour of England, our focus will be on how we can perform well as a team.”

With Bhuvi and Bumrah performing well in the limited overs, the swing-friendly conditions in England will really be a treat for the fans if they get going. But it will be interesting how India can counterattack the pace by the English bowlers.” Swing is a problem for every team, not just for Indians, If the team has momentum then you can do anything,” said an animated skipper before leaving for the tour.

India will play Ireland on two T20″s before heading to England. A visual treat awaits for the cricket fanatics who are waiting to see the men in blue back on the field.
