Senior Team India batter Virat Kohli will aim for a strong performance when the Men in Blue face arch-rivals Pakistan in the 2025 Champions Trophy match in Dubai on Sunday, February 23.

India secured a six-wicket victory over Bangladesh in their opening match of the ICC event, but Kohli struggled, managing only 22 runs off 38 balls before being dismissed by Rishad Hossain.

Despite the setback, Kohli has a strong white-ball record against Pakistan and will aim for a big performance. In the Champions Trophy, he has scored 124 runs in four innings at an average of 62 and a strike rate of 96.87, with one half-century.

His highest score of 81* came off 68 balls in the 2017 Champions Trophy group-stage match in Birmingham, where he smashed six fours and three sixes, helping India secure a dominant 124-run victory (DLS method).

In his other three innings against Pakistan in the tournament, Kohli registered scores of 16 (Centurion, 2009), 22* (Birmingham, 2013), and 5 (The Oval, 2017 final).

Looking at Virat Kohli‘s overall ODI record against Pakistan, the former Indian captain has amassed 678 runs in 16 innings at an average of 52.15 and a strike rate of 100.29. His tally includes three centuries and two half-centuries, with one instance of being dismissed for a duck.

Kohli’s highest ODI score came against Pakistan when he played a sensational knock of 183 off 148 balls in Mirpur during the 2012 Asia Cup. His innings, which featured 22 fours and a six, helped India successfully chase down 330 in 47.5 overs with six wickets in hand.

The veteran batter also registered a century against Pakistan in the 2015 World Cup in Adelaide, scoring 107 off 126 balls, a composed innings laced with eight fours.

Kohli’s third ODI hundred against Pakistan came in Colombo during the 2023 Asia Cup, where he remained unbeaten on 122 off 94 balls, striking nine fours and three sixes. His brilliant performance powered India to a massive 228-run victory.
