Australia all-rounder Cameron Green had a stellar outing with the bat in the recently concluded three-match T20I series against India. Opening in International cricket for the first time, Green ran riot with the bat, taking on the Indian bowlers in the powerplay overs.

He ended the T20I with a stellar knock, slamming a 19-ball half-century in the third and final game on Sunday, September 25, in Hyderabad. The youngster slammed three sixes and seven fours during his stay at the crease. He was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the fifth over for 52 (22 balls).

Reacting to Cameron Green’s devastating knock, former India opener Wasim Jaffer predicted that the Aussie all-rounder could be in high demand at the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) auction.

Taking to the microblogging site Twitter, Wasim Jaffer shared a popular meme and wrote, “IPL teams to Cameron Green in December #IPLAuction#INDvAUS.”

Cameron Green mustered 118 runs in the three-match T20I series against the Men in Blue at a fantastic strike rate of 214.54. He is certain to attract a couple of bids with the upcoming auction expected to take place in December.

India script a stunning win to win the series 2-1

Batting first, all-rounders Tim David and Cameron Green scored 54 and 52 respectively to power Australia to 186/7 in 20 overs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. For India, all-rounder Axar Patel returned with three wickets.

In response, Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli played knocks of 69 and 63 respectively as Team India chased down the target of 187 to win the third T20I by six wickets with one ball to spare.

Team India will next square off against South Africa in a three-match T20I series, beginning Wednesday before leaving for Australia for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
