After extensive discussions, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have resolved their dispute regarding complimentary tickets. Both parties have agreed to maintain the existing arrangement, ensuring that the number of passes issued to HCA remains unchanged.
According to an official statement from HCA, SRH has confirmed adherence to the existing tri-party agreement involving SRH, HCA, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). This agreement dictates that 10% of the total stadium capacity will be reserved for distribution across various sections.

Following discussions and telephonic conversations with SRH CEO Shanmugam, it was confirmed that the practice of issuing 3,900 complimentary tickets would continue. HCA has also assured its full cooperation with SRH to maintain a harmonious environment for the remaining matches in Hyderabad.
Distribution of Complimentary Passes
The 3,900 complimentary tickets distributed by HCA are allocated among various stakeholders. Out of these, 2,400 tickets are given to HCA Apex Council members who manage local cricket clubs. The remaining 1,500 passes are allocated to government officials, including personnel from the police, water supply, electricity, and other departments.
Earlier, reports suggested that there were tensions between HCA and SRH regarding the distribution of these tickets. SRH manager Srinath TB had sent an email to HCA treasurer CJ Srinivas, accusing HCA, particularly its president Jagan Mohan Rao Arshinapally, of using intimidation and coercion to demand additional complimentary tickets.
The dispute escalated when SRH alleged that HCA officials locked a corporate box during a match against Lucknow Super Giants, demanding 20 extra free tickets before reopening it. This incident raised concerns about the working relationship between HCA and SRH, with Srinath warning that if the issue persisted, the franchise might request that BCCI to consider shifting their home venue from Hyderabad.
Government Inquiry and Resolution
As tensions grew, allegations emerged that some officials had threatened to cut off essential services such as water and electricity to the stadium unless their ticket demands were met. A senior HCA official, speaking anonymously, confirmed that such pressures were being exerted.
In response to these serious allegations, Telangana Chief Minister Reventh Reddy directed Director-General (Vigilance and Enforcement) Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy to investigate the claims against HCA. Despite these controversies, the recent agreement between HCA and SRH ensures stability for upcoming matches, preventing further disruption and maintaining a professional relationship between the two entities.
