In today’s Vijay Hazare Trophy quarterfinals, Jharkhand defeated Maharashtra in a rain-curtailed match to progress into the semi-finals. Hyderabad progressed through the semi-finals of the tournament beating Andhra Pradesh in a high scoring thriller. BA Sandeep scored 96 runs for Hyderabad while Vihari 95 could not help his side win the match.
Jharkhand versus Maharashtra
Jharkhand progressed through the semi-finals of Vijay Hazare Trophy beating Maharashtra by 8 wickets in a rain-curtailed match played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. Jharkhand captain Ishan Kishan won the toss and decided to field first. Maharashtra openers Gugale and Gaikwad got the team off to a flying start putting on 35 runs in 3.4 overs.
The Jharkhand bowlers made a strong comeback into the game picking wickets at regular intervals. Motwani and Rahul Tripathi steadied the innings adding 76 runs for the 5th wicket. Rahul Tripathi was dismissed for 47. Motwani reached his half-century off 71 balls and soon was dismissed. Jharkhand bowled Maharashtra for 181 in 42.2 overs. For Jharkhand, young Anukul Roy was the pick of the bowler with 4 for 32 in 9 overs while Rahul Shukla took 3 for 35 in 7.2 overs and Varun Aaron 2 for 47 in 8 overs.
Chasing 182 runs to win, the Maharashtra new ball bowlers did not allow Jharkhand openers to score runs with ease. Jharkhand were 5 for 0 at end of 5 overs when rain arrived. With a revised target of 174 to win in 47 overs, Anand Singh was dismissed cheaply for 12 runs.
Captain Ishan Kishan and SS Rathour added 40 runs for the 2nd wicket before Kishan was dismissed for 28. At 89 for 2 in 27 overs, rain again arrived. After the rain break, the target was reduced to 127 off 34 overs. Rathour reached his maiden List A fifty off 78 balls. Jharkhand won the match by 8 wickets with 10 balls to spare.

Andhra versus Hyderabad
In the final game of Vijay Hazare Trophy quarterfinals, Hyderabad reached the semi-finals beating Andhra Pradesh by 14 runs in a high scoring thriller of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018 played at Just Cricket Academy Ground, Bangalore. Andhra Pradesh captain Hanuma Vihari won the toss and decided to field first. Hyderabad openers Tanmay Agarwal and Akshath Reddy put on 38 runs for the first wicket.
Andhra Pradesh bowlers took 3 quick wickets. B Sandeep and Captain Ambati Rayudu steadied the innings with a 68 runs stand for the 4th wicket. B Sandeep played a great knock scoring 96 off 97 balls. Rayudu made 28, Kolla Sumanth scored 27. Akash Bhandari scored 19 off 19 while Chama Milind scored quick fire 15 off 7 balls to help Hyderabad post 281 for 8 in 50 overs. For Andhra Pradesh, Ayyappa, Girinath Reddy and Prithviraj took 2 wickets each. KV Sasikanth took 1 wicket.
Chasing the target of 282 runs to win, Ashwin Hebbar and Srikar Bharath gave the team a solid start adding 33 runs for opening wicket in just 5.3 overs. Andhra Pradesh scored 62 runs in first 10 overs. Hebbar and Vihari added 53 runs for the 2nd wicket. Captain Vihari showed his class with some attacking stroke play. Vihari and Ricky Bhui added 112 runs for the third wicket.
Bhui completed his half-century off 67 balls. After the wicket of Ricky Bhui, Hyderabad bowlers made a strong comeback to pick wickets at regular intervals. Despite Sasikanth scoring 20 of Andhra Pradesh scored 267 for 9 in 50 overs. Sasikanth made a quick fire 20 off 10 balls but could not help Andhra Pradesh cross the line. Mohammad Siraj was the pick of bowlers for Hyderabad with 3 for 50 in 10 overs while Ravi Kiran took 2 for 54 in 9 overs.

Hyderabad will face Mumbai in the first semi-finals to be played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore on 17th while In the second semi-finals, Delhi will take on Jharkhand at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore on 18th October.
