The mystery spinner from West Indies Sunil Narine has been a pillar of strength for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The veteran cricketer has expressed his desire to play for them in any tournament owned by them.

Sunil Narine, who joined KKR in 2012 played important roles during their two title-winning campaign in 2012 and 2014. The cricketer, who turned 32 yesterday, also represents Trinbago Knight Riders, a Caribbean Premier League team owned by KKR’s parent company.

Calling the franchise as a family, Narine expressed that he wants to represent any team in the world owned by the KKR family. He also said that the relationship is way above than money before calling India his second home.

“Any tournament around the globe where Knight Riders have a team, I’d wanna be a part of it. It’s not about the money or the friendships, it’s like a family to me,” Narine said on the Twitter handle of KKR.

“The way they welcome you in India, with arms wide open. It’s like they already know you as a human being – what you don’t like, what you like. They try to make you comfortable. Every year, when I am leaving for India (for the IPL), it’s like I am leaving for my second home,” he added.

The all-rounder who has 122 wickets from 110 matches; Sunil Narine admitted that he is currently missing the IPL and all the excitement. Notably, BCCI had to postpone IPL for an indefinite period in the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. They are now looking at the October-November window to host the cash-rich league.

“The closest thing to feeling at home playing in the CPL is the IPL. I am missing the excitement of the IPL, the fans, the loved ones watching you perform,” he said.
