Indian pacer and rising superstar, Mohammed Siraj opens up about his bowling plans against the Kiwi batsmen, Kane Williamson in particular. India is set to battle New Zealand in a highly anticipated World Test Championship Final starting June 18.
Kane Williamson, who is part of the much-vaunted ‘Fab Four’, is a key batsman in the Black Caps’ lineup. The right-handed batsman has had a great season at home, both as a batsman and a captain. He is currently part of the Black Caps team that’s touring England for a two-test series.
He is the Best Batsman In The New Zealand Batting Lineup’ – Mohammed Siraj
Mohammed Siraj played a crucial part in India’s famous 2-1 victory in tests against Australia in their own den. Indian team, which was left with an inexperienced bowling lineup courtesy of injuries to the first-choice pacers, scripted a comeback for the ages with Siraj scalping 13 wickets.
Mohammed Siraj ended up as the highest wicket-taker for India, that included a maiden five-wicket haul as well. The Hyderabadi, who had a good season with RCB as well, spoke to ABP LIVE Bengali.
“Australian pitches offer more bounce and pace. I used to bowl at the back of good length there. But in England, there will be more swing. So, I will try to make the batsmen play on the front foot. I will be eyeing to bowl in a particular spot tirelessly,” Siraj said.
Kane Williamson, who has been in good form, will be the prized scalp. Mohammed Siraj, who called the batsman as the ‘best in the New Zealand batting lineup’, was of the same opinion.
“I will be eyeing to bowl in a particular spot tirelessly. I will focus on bowling dots against Kane Williamson, the best batsman in the New Zealand batting lineup, to create pressure on him. It will provoke him to go for shots and there will be a high chance of getting him out,” Mohammed Siraj concluded.
