The much-anticipated ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is all set to kick off on October 5 in Ahmedabad. On Friday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced a star-studded commentators panel for the ICC.tv’s coverage of the World Championship. The panel boasts of legendary former cricketers from across the globe.
The coverage will include a pre-match show, an innings interval programme and a post-match show. The commentary panel features World Cup-winning captains Ricky Ponting and Eoin Morgan. Legendary cricketers Sunil Gavaskar, Nasser Hussain, Waqar Younis, and Anjum Chopra are also part of the panel among others.

Thriller to be commentating: Ricky Ponting
Former cricketer Ricky Ponting expressed that the 2023 World Cup is going to be a great contest. He pointed out that most of the players are familiar with the Indian conditions. Ponring also said that the upcoming edition of the World Cup in India will be bigger than the previous edition. He added that he is excited to be part of the commentary panel.
“Lifting the World Cup is every cricketer’s dream, and I am sure there are quite a few captains fancying their chances in India. The competition is evenly matched with most teams very familiar with Indian conditions,” said Ricky Ponting as stated in the ICC release.
“The frenzy we witnessed in the 2011 World Cup in India was pretty incredible, but I reckon this year will be even bigger! I’m thrilled to be commentating and can’t wait to call the action,” he added.
