The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will commence, and it’s the first time that Pakistan will host the tournament. Six teams, apart from Pakistan itself, will feature in the eight-team tournament. It’s worth noting, though, that while the tournament is hosted by Pakistan, all of India’s matches will be played in Dubai. Pakistan will kick off its participation with a match against New Zealand.
Eight teams have qualified for the Champions Trophy; the top seven teams as per ICC ODI rankings qualify automatically. The eighth team, Afghanistan, was able to gain a spot through the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. Pakistan, India, England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Afghanistan are the participants in the event.
India will play its matches at a venue in Dubai, while the other teams will play their matches within Pakistan. The final has not been decided yet, although it is understood to be happening in Pakistan. With the championship just around the corner, cricket enthusiasts all over the world are licking their lips in excitement. The ICC Champions Trophy will be an exciting event as many big teams of the world will fight for the title.
ICC Champions Trophy 2025: India’s Group Stage Schedule and Fixtures

In 2025, the ICC Champions Trophy will field eight teams, as they qualified by finishing as the best 8 at the ICC ODI World Cup in 2023. This is compared to a long tradition based on the qualification of eight top-ranked teams. They shall then compete in a group stage wherein the top two teams will progress to knockouts.
Team India would play all its group stage matches at the Dubai International Stadium. It will begin its campaign against the Bangladeshi team on February 20 of the year 2025. An encounter, which promises to be as electrifying and furious, would take place on February 23 of the year 2025 against an archrival Pakistan. India will end its group stage assignments with a game against New Zealand on March 2, 2025.
The following are the schedules for Team India in group stages: IND vs BAN on February 20, 2025; IND vs PAK on February 23, 2025; and IND vs NZ on March 2, 2025. With a dominating team in action and a more postseason-friendly schedule, one would bet on India making it deep into this tournament.
Final Venue Uncertain, Prize Money Revealed

The venue for the final match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is still unclear on March 9. The uncertainty arises due to India’s possibility of reaching the finals, which technically modifies the venue since the BCCI has marked non-permission for the team to play in Pakistan. If India reaches the final, Dubai is the alternative venue.
If India’s fails to get to the final, the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore will be where the championship match gets played. The decision on what venue will be based on results from the tournament. The added uncertainty over the venue lends even more excitement to the tournament.
The prize money has been increased by more than 50% since the last tournament in 2017. The winners get $2.24 million, while the runners-up get $1.12 million. The losing semifinalists get $560,000 each. Prize money has been increased significantly, and it gives teams an extra incentive to perform well in the tournament.
