On November 16, 2023, in Mumbai, Disney+Hotstar made history once more, achieving a record peak of 53 million viewers during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 semi-final between India and New Zealand.

Virat Kohli marked his 50th ODI century in this match, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 centuries in the ODI format. The exceptional Indian team remains unbeaten in the tournament and is just one match away from securing the coveted trophy.

In partnership with the International Cricket Council (ICC), Disney+Hotstar introduced MaxView, a technological innovation enabling cricket fans to watch the game in a vertical mode (9X14 portrait view).

This marks the first time in streaming cricket history. MaxView offers a one-handed viewing experience, catering to the common way users consume content.

It’s a new, customized opt-in feature, and additional features like the Live feed tab and Scorecard tab are also accessible in vertical mode, along with vertical ad formats.
