Team India registered a thumping 100-run win over England played at Ekana Stadium, Lucknow on 29th October 2023. It was an impressive performance by the pace bowlers including Mohammed Shami, and Jasprit Bumrah rattling the England batters.

Defending a modest total of 230, Jasprit Bumrah got two back-to-back wickets after 30 runs opening partnership by Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairstow. Mohammed Shami was introduced into the attack and got rid of Ben Stokes. Shami then dismissed Jonny Bairstow to leave England in disarray.

Kuldeep Yadav bowled a beauty to get rid of England captain Jos Buttler leaving England in deep trouble. Liam Livingstone and Moeen tried to steady the innings with singles and hitting occasional boundaries. Mohammed Shami did the job again dismissing Moeen Ali with a simple catch by KL Rahul.

Ravindra Jadeja got his first wicket with a simple stumping by KL Rahul. Kuldeep Yadav dismissed the dangerous Liam Livingstone to keep England under immense pressure. Adil Rashid and David Willey looked in decent touch before Shami struck dismissing Adil Rashid. Jasprit Bumrah stunned Mark Wood with a superb yorker to end the England innings at 129 in 34.5 overs. Mohammed Shami was the pick of bowlers with 4 wickets, Bumrah 3, Kuldeep Yadav 2, and Ravindra Jadeja 1.

England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to field first. Rohit Sharma showed intent against David Willey putting him under pressure with attacking shots. Chris Woakes produced a lovely delivery to dismiss Shubman Gill. David Willey got rid of Virat Kohli with a simple catch to Stokes at mid-off.

At the end of 10 overs, India scored just 35 for 2. Chris Woakes struck once more dismissing Shreyas Iyer with short delivery. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma steadied the ship taking singles and hitting occasional boundaries. Rohit Sharma survived a close LBW shout given out by the umpire, but on review, it was overturned to not out as it was down the leg. Rohit Sharma looked composed with well complied fifty off 66 deliveries.

KL Rahul got out at the wrong time trying to hit a big shot caught by Bairstow at mid-on. Rohit and KL Rahul added 91 runs for the 4th wicket. Suryakumar Yadav played with intent putting the bad deliveries away. Rohit Sharma fell trying to hit a big shot caught by Livingstone. Rohit and Surya added 33 runs for the 5th wicket. Suryakumar Yadav looked in decent touch as India kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Jasprit Bumrah added valuable runs along with Kuldeep Yadav as they ended with 229 for 9 in 50 overs.
