ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: Lone Pakistani Fan Sits In Police Van After Failing To Enter Stadium

India and Pakistan faced each other in front of a capacity crowd played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 14th October 2023. It was a huge crowd with a sea of blue supporting the Indian team.

A regular presence for every Pakistani match in World Cup history since 2007, Chacha was not allowed to enter the Narendra Modi Stadium and was asked to sit in the police van. The Pakistani fans were denied visas for this tournament. The sole fan known as Chicago Chacha was seen at the stadium. He was then asked to sit in the police as there were lots of Indian fans to witness the India-Pakistan encounter.

The Indian team had a dream bowling effort as they skittled out Pakistan for 191 in 42.5 overs. It was a superb bowling effort by the Men in Blue as Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja took 2 wickets each helping the Indian team bundle out Pakistan cheaply. Siraj got the early breakthrough dismissing Shafique after a bright 41 runs opening partnership.

Hardik Pandya struck to dismiss Imam. Babar Azam and Rizwan put on a steady stand before Siraj took the important wicket of Babar to put enough pressure on the Pakistani batting lineup. Kuldeep did the job of dismissing Saud Shakeel and Iftikhar Ahmed in the same over. Bumrah then dismissed well-set Rizwan with a slower delivery to leave Pakistan in deep trouble.

Bumrah then produced a beauty to dismiss Shahbad Khan. It was a superb bowling effort by the Indian bowlers as they made life tough for the Pakistani lower-order batting. India bowled out Pakistan for 191.

In reply, Rohit Sharma made a flying start putting pressure on the Pakistani bowlers right from word go and never allowing them to settle. It was a tremendous performance by Men in Blue as they won the match by 7 wickets with lots of overs to spare. With this win, the Indian team moved to the top spot with a better net run rate.
