Wasim Jaffer, the ex-Indian opening batsman, has gained a notable reputation for engaging in humorous banter with former England captain Michael Vaughan on X (formerly Twitter) over the last several years.
As they continued to playfully exchange banter, this time, it was Vaughan’s opportunity to take a jab. During an episode of the Club Prairie Fire podcast, he suggested that Jaffer relied on a professional to create his witty posts.
In doing so, Vaughan indirectly raised doubts about Jaffer’s comedic abilities, suspecting external assistance. Recently, here is what Vaughan shared:
“Hate to give the game away @WasimJaffer14.”
Wasim Jaffer didn’t rush to respond to Michael Vaughan, but when he did, he cleverly included a subtle dig at Mohammad Hafeez. The ex-Pakistani cricketer had been engaging in some back-and-forths with Vaughan on X after Vaughan criticized Hafeez for describing Virat Kohli’s century at the Eden Gardens as ‘selfish.’
Vaughan subsequently teased Hafeez by sharing a photo of Hafeez being bowled out by Virat Kohli. Jaffer seized this chance to playfully criticize the ex-England captain, and here’s what he wrote:
“On a podcast @MichaelVaughan said that I hired a professional to banter with him. It’s true. But I only did that as I thought he needed professional help. And it’s worked. From unnecessarily trolling Ind fans to acting like an Ind fan, look how far he’s come! #Proud 😊 #CWC2023.”
It was like accomplishing two things at once, and it highlights how clever Jaffer is.
Michael Vaughan keeps teasing Mohammad Hafeez
Michael Vaughan extended his string of posts targeting Mohammad Hafeez by sharing a video in which Hafeez was shown getting out to Virat Kohli for 15 runs off 28 balls during a T20 World Cup 2012 match.
Here’s what Vaughan wrote in the video’s caption: “Morning @MHafeez22.. Have a great day 😜😜 #India #Pakistan.”
The playful exchanges between Jaffer, Vaughan, and Hafeez on X continue to captivate and entertain fans.
