Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway share fourth highest partnershi in WC history

New Zealand will look to continue their winning momentum as they face the Netherlands at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on 9th October 2023 in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. It promises to be an exciting battle as New Zealand registered a thumping 9-wicket win over defending England with Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra putting on excellent displays of batting.

On the other hand, the Netherlands bowlers did a superb job of restricting Pakistan to 286. Their batting lacked experience as Bas de Leede was the only bright spot as they could only muster 205. They would be looking for a much-improved performance in the upcoming match against New Zealand.

Both teams have matchwinners that can change the course of the game with their abilities. New Zealand is the favourite to win the encounter while the Netherlands would look to improve the performance they displayed with bat against Pakistan.

Here we look at the 5 Players To Watch Out For Between New Zealand And the Netherlands

  1. Devon Conway

The stylish left-handed batter looked in sensational form during the opening match against England. He showed his class with some attacking shots against Mark Wood and Co in the first 10 overs keeping the scoreboard ticking and making life tough for the bowlers.

Conway played with intent and did not allow any England bowler to settle. He remained not out on 152 off 121 deliveries helping New Zealand win the match by 9 wickets. He would be looking to continue his superb form and make sure that New Zealand register a comfortable victory over the Netherlands.

  1. Vikramjit Singh

The stylish Vikramjit Singh looked in decent touch against the top-quality bowling of Pakistan. They showed his class as they lost the wickets of Max O Dowd and Colin Ackermann cheaply. Singh put on a brilliant display of batting taking singles along with Bas de Leede.

He completed his half-century and was dismissed soon after that. Vikramjit Singh would look to provide some momentum against the Kiwi bowling lineup and allow the lower-order batters to score runs freely. Vikramjit Singh would be eager to provide an attacking mindset in the first 10 overs and keep pressure on the Kiwi bowling that will help the Netherlands lay a strong foundation for a decent total.

  1. Rachin Ravindra

The stylish left-handed batter Rachin Ravindra had a dream debut with some lovely shots right from the word go against the pacers and spinners putting enough pressure on England. He was in sublime form taking on Mark Wood in the first 10 overs that kept them under immense pressure.

Ravindra showed his class making life tough for the England captain Jos Buttler. He remained not out on 123 and put on an unbeaten 273-run partnership that paved the way for dominating New Zealand.

He would be looking to continue his superb form in tomorrow’s match and make sure that New Zealand win the match against the inexperienced Netherlands bowling lineup. He was named the player of the match award for his unbeaten 123 runs and took 1 wicket for 76 runs.

  1. Bas de Leede

Bas de Leede was the pick of performers with both bat and ball against Pakistan. With the ball, he grabbed 4 wickets for 62 runs in his 9 overs. De Leede took the wickets of Mohammed Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shahbad Khan, and Hasan Ali.

With the bat, he was the top scorer with 67 and made the batting look when other Netherlands batters struggled. He would be looking for another impressive performance if the Dutch wanted to give them a tough fight against New Zealand.

Bas de Leede will look to do the job with both bat and ball creating enough pressure on the New Zealand team.

  1. Mitchell Santner

Mitchell Santner had a dream spell in the opening match against England. He was bought early by Tom Latham and did not allow them to hit big shots. It was an amazing bowling spell giving away 37 runs in his 10 overs also took 2 wickets that stem the flow of runs.

Santner got the breakthrough by dismissing Jonny Bairstow. He then dismissed Chris Woakes in the dying overs to make sure that England did not reach a massive total. With the Netherlands’ struggle against spinners, he would play a key role in picking wickets and stem the flow of runs. He will play another big role in the match against the Netherlands and make sure that his bowling will restrict the Dutch side helping New Zealand to register a victory.
