Team India head coach Rahul Dravid heaped praise on skipper Rohit Sharma’s leadership. He expressed that the Indian captain has led the team from the front on and off the field. India became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the ongoing ICC ODI World Cup 2023 and is unbeaten in the tournament so far.
The Rohit Sharma-led team has sixteen points from eight matches. They rank at the top of the points table. Ahead of India’s final league stage match against the Netherlands, Rahul Dravid praised Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. He expressed that the skipper deserves all the success, and wished for more in the future. Rahul Dravid said while addressing the media,
“His captaincy has been terrific for a long time. He is someone who has got the respect of the team and the coaching staff. It’s been a pleasure to see him operate the way he has. I think he is truly someone who deserves all the success that he has been getting and hopefully, it may continue.”

Rahul Dravid further acknowledged Rohit Sharma’s impact with the bat. He highlighted that the opener has been crucial in setting the tone for Indian batting. So far, Rohit Sharma has scored 442 runs at an average of 55.25, including a century and two fifties. Showering praise on Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid said,
“Rohit is certainly been a leader, without a doubt. I think he has led by example on and off the field. Some of the starts he has given us, the way he has cracked open games for us. A lot of times people are looked at… there have been some games that could have turned tricky for us, but the kind of starts he has helped us crack open games.”
