The India versus Pakistan match played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 14th October 2023 saw plenty of Bollywood stars including Arjit Singh, and Sunidhi Chauhan performing during the pre-ceremony. During the encounter, Arjit Singh was seen clicking pictures of Anushka Sharma with his mobile.

It was a one-sided encounter between these two teams. Right from winning the toss, Indian bowlers kept a tight leash on Pakistan batters and never allowed them to score runs freely. Imam and Abdullah Shafique had a steady start putting on 41 runs for the opening wicket. Babar looked in decent touch along with Imam before Hardik Pandya dismissed Imam with a lovely catch by KL Rahul.

Babar Azam scored his first fifty against India in a One-day format. He was dismissed by Siraj which led to the collapse. Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Saud Shakeel and Iftikhar Ahmed in the same over. Bumrah showed his class getting rid of Rizwan and Shahdab Khan in quick succession to leave Pakistan in dire trouble.

Hardik Pandya then dismissed Mohammad Nawaz with a simple catch to Bumrah. Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Hasan Ali and Haris Rauf to skittle out Pakistan for 191 in 42.5 overs. For India, Jadeja, Bumrah, Siraj, Kuldeep and Hardik Pandya took 2 wickets each.

Rohit Sharma played a stunning knock

Rohit Sharma continued his brilliant form that he displayed in the match against Afghanistan. He took the attack to Pakistani bowlers putting pressure on Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi and other bowlers that made life tough for Babar Azam and Co.

It was a smashing knock as he took the game away from Pakistan with some lusty. He scored his fifty off just 30 deliveries keeping momentum going for India. His innings came to an end with a quickfire 86 off 63 balls with 6 fours and 6 sixes.

Shreyas Iyer also made valuable contributions with the winning shot and completed his fifty. India registered a dominating 7 wicket win including 117 balls to spare. For his 2 for 19 in 7 overs, Bumrah was named the player of the match award. With this win, India moved to the top of the points table.

India will next play against Bangladesh on 19th October 2023 at MCA Stadium, Pune. Rohit Sharma and Co would look to continue the winning streak.
