ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: [WATCH] Babar Azam And Rohit Sharma Share A Laugh Before The Captains’ Meeting For The Mega Event In Ahmedabad

Pakistan captain Babar Azam met with Indian skipper Rohit Sharma in Ahmedabad before the 2023 World Cup captains’ meeting. Both captains have arrived in Ahmedabad for the event happening later today. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) posted a short video of Babar Azam’s trip from Hyderabad to Ahmedabad.

Azam had been in Hyderabad for the past few days during the two warm-up matches against New Zealand and Australia. After the captains’ meeting, he’ll head back to Hyderabad, where Pakistan will face the Netherlands at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Saturday.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma made the journey from Trivandrum, where he was with the team for their warm-up match against the Netherlands. In the closing moments of the video posted by the Pakistan Cricket Board on Instagram, it seems like Sharma could be seen exchanging greetings with Azam.

In early 2023, Rohit Sharma deleted Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) from his phone

In an interview with The Indian Express, Rohit Sharma revealed that he’s kept away from social media platforms, including Instagram and X, for nine months to maintain his focus on the World Cup. He credited his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, for handling all the content on his profile during this time.

“I don’t have Twitter or Instagram on my phone for the past 9 months – if we have to do any commercial post, my wife handles it – these are distractions – it’s waste of time & energy – so I have decided not to have it on my phone because if it’s there – I will watch it,” said Sharma.

Rohit Sharma is scheduled to address the media during the captains’ meet event in Ahmedabad, and the live streaming of the event can be watched on Star Sports’ YouTube channel.
